We are sad to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. To those of us who served in the British armed forces, she was our Commander In Chief, simply the best Boss you could possibly wish for. May she rest in Peace.
At our monthly breakfast event on 17th September, we chose to hold a short memorial event. This gave the people not able to travel to London to have a place and a time to show their respects. The morning started off with short speech which was led by Colonel Neil Smith (retired). This was followed by the last post, lowering of the standards and a two minute silence. A port toast to the new King and a toast in Remembrance to Queen Elizabeth II then followed.
Our breakfast events are on the 3rd Saturday of each month at Flixton Cricket Club, M41 8UU from 1000 – Noon.
